Laura has been very helpful throughout the whole process. She was always quick to respond to my phone calls and emails and was very polite, friendly and professional. She explained things clearly and was always happy to help whenever I had any questions. I really appreciated her support in getting everything sorted and I’m very happy to have finally moved into my new home. Thank you Laura for all your help

Never heard of Tristrams, but boy, so relieved i brought a property through them.. Had a long and difficult purchase of a property, however each and every step of the way Kirsten was there for me, and as a first time buyer, provided full support.. i must say thank you so much as i couldnt have done it without you, you kept me fully informed, calm and totally caring... i had look at other properties, but the other estate agents were either uninterested or too aggressive... Kirsten your the best...

First time I’ve used Tristrams and I’m very happy. Sold our house without any problems.

What is Mapperley like to live in?

Mapperley sits to the north-east of Nottingham city centre, on the elevated ground above the Trent Valley. It is a diverse and sociable area with a particularly strong independent food, drink and retail scene along Plains Road, which has developed into one of Nottingham’s most popular neighbourhood high streets. The adjacent Mapperley Park conservation area, characterised by large Victorian and Edwardian villas set in generous plots and tree-lined avenues, is one of the most prestigious addresses in the city. Mapperley proper offers a more affordable and varied housing stock, popular with young professionals, couples and families who want to be close to the city without the city centre price tag.

Transport links

Mapperley has good bus connections to Nottingham city centre, with several routes putting the city centre within 15 to 20 minutes. The area is also within reasonable cycling distance of the city for those who prefer an active commute. By car, the A60 and the inner ring road provide straightforward access to the city and the wider road network, with the M1 accessible in around 25 minutes.

Schools

Mapperley has a range of primary schools serving the local community. Secondary pupils typically attend schools in the surrounding areas. Mapperley Park’s proximity to the city also means good access to Nottingham’s wider educational offer. Families should research current Ofsted ratings and catchment boundaries before choosing a property.

Parks and leisure

Woodthorpe Grange Park, a short walk from Mapperley Plains, is one of the most popular parks in north Nottingham, offering formal gardens, a children’s play area, a cafe and regular events. Mapperley Park itself provides green space and pleasant walking on the tree-lined streets of the conservation area. The independent social scene along Plains Road, with its cafes, wine bars, restaurants and independent shops, means many residents find most of their leisure needs on their doorstep.

Property in Mapperley

Mapperley offers a varied property market. Mapperley Park commands a significant premium, with substantial Victorian and Edwardian detached and semi-detached homes that rarely come to the market and attract strong competition when they do. Mapperley Plains and the surrounding streets offer more accessible pricing across a good mix of semis, terraces and apartments, attracting first-time buyers, young professionals and buy-to-let investors. Rental demand is strong, particularly from young professional tenants who value the area’s social scene and city access.
